PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: 16 April 2023

At Tap Door, we understand the importance of protecting your privacy and are committed to being transparent about our privacy practices. We want to ensure that you are fully informed about how we collect, use, and share your personal information. We provide settings that allow you to choose how certain information is used by Tap Door because we believe in giving you control over your personal information.

Please note that this policy does not apply to the practices of third parties, including other members who sell using the Services, who may also collect or receive data in connection with your use of the Services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties to understand their data collection and use practices.

Our Privacy Policy

At Tap Door, we take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. Our Privacy Policy applies to the information collected through Tapdoor.com (which we’ll refer to as the “Site”), Tap Door’s mobile applications (The “Apps”), and our other services provided by Tap Door Limited (“Tap Door” together with “we”, “us”, “our”). We’ll refer to the Site, the Apps and our other services as the “Services”.

As a user of our Services, you acknowledge that we process your personal information to run our business and provide our users with the Services. By accepting our Terms of Use (and in some jurisdictions, by acknowledging this policy), you confirm that you have read and understand the policy, including how and why we use your information. If you do not want us to collect or process your personal information in the ways described in this policy, you should not use the Services.

Please note that we are not responsible for the content or the privacy policies or practices of any of our members, websites hosted through Tap Door, or third-party websites and apps.

At Tap Door, we require all account owners and users of the site to be at least 18 years of age, and minors under the age of 18 are strictly forbidden from using the site or creating an account. We do not knowingly “sell”, as that term is defined under applicable law, the personal information of minors. More information can be found in Tap Door’s Minors Policy.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that Tap Door will use your information in the United Kingdom and any other country where Tap Door operates. However, please be aware that the privacy laws and standards in certain countries, including the rights of authorities to access your personal information, may differ from those that apply in the country in which you reside. We will transfer personal information only to those countries to which we are permitted by law to transfer personal information as more fully described in the “Transfers” Section of this policy.

Information Collected or Received

At Tap Door, we collect or receive your personal information in several ways as part of providing our Services. We obtain personal information from various sources, including directly from you when you fill in forms or during registration, indirectly from you based on your activity and interaction with our Services, or from the device or browser you use to access the Services. We also receive personal information from our vendors and suppliers to help provide Tap Door services you may interact with, such as payments or customer support, and from our third-party advertising and marketing partners.

Although often you choose what information to provide, there are times when we require certain information to provide you with the Services. In accordance with the purposes outlined in our privacy policy, Tap Door uses the personal information it receives and collects.

If you decide to link your bank account to pay for purchases or receive payment as a seller, you may use a third-party service available through the Site or App. It's important to note that Tap Door does not have a direct partner relationship with these third parties and their processing information is subject to their own privacy policies. Before sharing information with any third party, you should take the time to understand their privacy and security practices.

Registration, Account Setup and Service Usage

When you register for Tap Door's Services, you will be required to provide certain information. Firstly, a valid email address is required in order to use the Services. You must also provide a name associated with your account, which can be modified through your account settings. This information is necessary to enable Tap Door to provide you with the Services.

In addition to your email and name, Tap Door may also require additional information such as a shop name, billing and payment information (including billing contact name, address, telephone number, credit/debit card information), a telephone number, and/or a physical postal address and date of birth if you are buying something on the Site for delivery. As a Tap Door seller, you will be required to provide your full name, identification or tax ID, date of birth, bank account information, company number, and proof of identification in order to provide the services to you and comply with applicable law.

Tap Door requires this information from both buyers and sellers in order to provide you with the Services. This includes verifying ownership of an account, mitigating fraud and abuse, complying with regulatory obligations, or completing a transaction as a buyer or seller. In addition, Tap Door may store credit card information and other information provided to us during checkout for billing and payment purposes and to process your transaction.

Members in certain countries can choose to save their credit card information to facilitate checkout for future purchases. However, if you are a Tap Door buyer in the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or the United Kingdom, you may be asked to authenticate your payment method when you place an order. To authenticate a payment, you will need to respond to a prompt from your card issuer and provide additional information, such as a correct response to a question, a password, or a passcode.

Tap Door may contact individual shop owners confidentially to request more information about their shops or items listed through the Services, or may request information from buyers to ensure compliance with our policies and applicable law. In order to use certain products or Services on Tap Door, you may be required to complete an application. Any information that you submit through the application process will not be displayed publicly and will only be used internally by Tap Door and its service providers, unless otherwise specified.

Profile

When you use Tap Door, you may choose to provide personal information to create a profile. This may include your name, birthday, gender, and location, as well as other personal information that you decide to share. You can edit or remove this information at any time through your account settings.

The name associated with your account is publicly displayed and is connected to your Tap Door activity. Other members of the platform may be able to see information related to your activity, such as the date you joined, ratings and reviews (including your display name, city, and/or country), and information relating to items you review or sell, as well as related photos. They may also be able to see information related to your profile, items you've listed for sale, your shop pages and policies, your Favourites and “Boxes”, followers, and those you follow. Additionally, other members may be able to see comments you post in our community spaces, and any information that you decide to share via social networks.

If you're a seller, we may collect and use information about you to feature you in marketing and advocacy materials, as well as to feature your shop on and off the platform. This is in accordance with Tap Door's Terms of Use or as otherwise legally required.

From time to time, we may also ask for certain demographic information, such as your race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity, in relation to specific marketing and advocacy projects and campaigns. Providing this demographic information is entirely voluntary, and at the time we ask, we will also seek your consent to use it.

Automated Information

When you visit the Tap Door website or use certain features of the Services, Tap Door automatically receives and records information from your browser or mobile device. This information includes your IP address or unique device identifier, data about which pages you visit, and how you interact with those pages. The purpose of collecting this information is to allow Tap Door to operate and provide the Services. This information is stored in log files and is collected automatically.

In addition to this, Tap Door also receives similar information from connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices, such as voice-activated assistants or Smart TVs. This information includes IP addresses and actions taken on the device.

Tap Door may combine information from your browser or mobile device with other information that we or our advertising or marketing partners collect about you, including across devices. The purpose of collecting this information is to prevent fraud and keep the Services secure, to analyse and understand how the Services work for members and visitors, and to provide advertising, including across your devices, and a more personalised experience for members and visitors.

When you install, access, or use the Tap Door Services, we also automatically collect device-specific information. This includes information such as the hardware model, operating system information, app version, app usage and debugging information, browser information, IP address, and device identifiers.

Data from Tap Door Vendors and Suppliers

In addition to the information we collect directly from you and through automated means, we also receive information about you from our vendors and suppliers. This information may include records of your interactions with customer service representatives, payments information, delivery information, and any information that you share in Tap Door’s forums.

Our vendors and suppliers share this information with us in order to help us provide you with the Services and improve your experience on our platform. We use this information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws and regulations.

Data from Advertising and Marketing Partners

In addition to the information we collect from you directly or indirectly, Tap Door also receives information about you from our advertising and marketing partners. This information includes attribution information, which we obtain through cookies and UTM tags in URLs to determine the source of a visit to Tap Door. We also receive information about your responses to marketing emails and advertisements, as well as your responses to offers. Additionally, we receive audience information from partners who you have given consent to share that information with us. We use this information to analyse the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing efforts and to provide you with a more personalised experience on our platform.

Location Information

Tap Door collects information about your use of the Services for various purposes, including advertising, analytics, content delivery and protection of the Services. The information collected includes your IP address, browser information, device information (such as iOS IDFA, IDFV for limited non-advertising purposes, Android AAID) and location information provided by your device, if enabled. When you use the Apps, you may choose to share your geolocation details with Tap Door to use certain functions, such as the local marketplace, maps, and in-person sales, but it is not mandatory to share this information. You may also choose to publish your location when you sell on Tap Door.

Tap Door obtains your location information from your profile, your IP address or other information from your device, such as precise location information from GPS or information about wireless networks or cell towers near your mobile device, with your consent. This information is used to provide features and to improve and customise the Services, including internal analytics, localisation, regional requirements and policies, local content, search results and recommendations for delivery and mapping services, and personalised marketing. If you have previously consented to sharing your precise device location information but no longer wish to continue sharing it, you can revoke your consent to sharing through the settings on the Apps or on your mobile device.

Certain non-precise location services are critical for the site to function, such as those related to security and localised policies based on your IP address or submitted address. Tap Door will only share your geolocation details with third parties (such as mapping, payments or advertising providers) to provide you with the Services. You may also enable the Apps to access your mobile device's camera to upload photographs to Tap Door.

Analytics Information

Tap Door uses data analytics software to monitor and improve the functionality of our Site and Apps. This software records various types of information, including the frequency of your use of the Site or Apps, your interactions within the Site or Apps, aggregated usage data, performance metrics, and debugging information. It also records the geographical location from which you accessed or downloaded the Site or Apps.

Please note that we do not link any of the information collected by the analytics software to any personally identifiable information that you submit to us through the Site or mobile application. For more information on how we use cookies and other similar technologies, please see Tap Door's Cookies and Similar Technologies Policy and Disclosures.

Information from Third Parties

When using Tap Door, you may have the option to connect your account with an external third-party application, such as Google. This is an optional feature and subject to your agreements with that third party, including their Terms of Use and privacy notices. If you choose to connect your Tap Door account to a third-party application, Tap Door may receive information from that application.

Tap Door may also collect public information from social media platforms in order to connect with you. This information may be used as part of providing the Services to you. You may also choose to share some of your Tap Door activity on certain social media networks that are connected to your Tap Door account. You have the ability to revoke your permission to share this information at any time by adjusting your account settings.

In certain cases, third-party applications may receive messages from Tap Door or allow you to forward Tap Door messages to another email address. However, if Tap Door is unable to send critical messages about your account to you, your account may be suspended or terminated.

Please note that the information Tap Door receives from third-party applications is subject to the Tap Door Privacy Policy, and Tap Door will not link this information to any personally identifiable information that you submit within the Tap Door site or mobile application. For more information, please refer to Tap Door's Cookies and Similar Technologies Policy and Disclosures.

Non-Member Information

When a person who is not yet a registered Tap Door member interacts with certain Tap Door features, such as subscribing to a Tap Door Newsletter or engaging in a transaction, Tap Door receives or obtains information about that person (referred to as a "non-member"). This information may include an email address or IP address, and is used only for the specific purposes disclosed when it was submitted to Tap Door.

Non-member information may also be used for the necessary functioning of Tap Door's Services or where Tap Door has a legitimate interest, as described in the "Information Uses, Sharing, & Disclosure" section of this policy. Non-member information may also be used to facilitate actions authorised by a member or non-member, such as when a member invites a non-member to visit the Site or sends a gift card code to a non-member.

Tap Door takes the privacy of non-member information seriously and only uses it in accordance with the purposes disclosed at the time of collection or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

Sharing Information with Sellers

When a member or non-member buys an item on the Tap Door Site or App, the customer's personal information, such as name, email address, and postal address, is shared with the seller to fulfil the order. The seller will use this information solely to complete the transaction and deliver the purchased item(s).

Furthermore, Tap Door gives customers the option to opt-in to receive marketing communications from the seller they are purchasing from. If the customer chooses to opt-in, they will receive further promotional emails from the seller, which can be managed and updated in their account settings. If a customer does not opt-in, the seller will not send any marketing communications to the customer beyond what is necessary to complete the transaction.

Your Discoverability

In order to help you connect with your friends and contacts on Tap Door, you have the option to import your contacts from your mobile device or personal email address book, or from a social network account. Please note that we do not have access to your login information for your email service, mobile device, or social network site.

Once you have imported your contacts, you can search for people you know by their email address or phone number on the Site or through the contact information you imported. This feature can be helpful for finding and connecting with other members of our platform. For example, you can follow another member's public activity, such as their public favourites. When you begin following another member's activity, they will receive an email notification (if the member has consented to receiving this type of email).

However, if you do not want your contacts to be able to find you on Tap Door through your email address, phone number, or social networking connections, you can change your findability through your account settings. You also have the option to remove your name and instead use a nickname or alias as your name in your public account information if you do not wish to be located on Tap Door via your name.

We respect your privacy and are committed to providing you with the tools and options you need to control your information and how it is shared on our platform.

Messages from Tap Door

At times, Tap Door may need to communicate with you for various reasons, such as marketing, transactions, advocacy, and service updates. These messages are primarily delivered via email, Tap Door messages, or push notifications. If you no longer wish to receive push notifications, you can disable them at the device level. Additionally, you can opt out of receiving marketing communications through email or Tap Door messages by updating your account settings or following the unsubscribe link in any marketing email you receive.

To ensure you properly receive notifications, we will need to collect certain information about your device, such as operating system and user identification information. It's also necessary for every account to keep a valid email address on file to receive messages. Furthermore, Tap Door may contact you by telephone to provide member support or for transaction-related purposes if you request that we call you.

With your consent where required by applicable law, Tap Door may also send you SMS or similar messages, or reach out to you by telephone, for customer support, research or feedback, security purposes when you enable two-factor authentication in your account, or to provide you with information about products and features that may interest you. You can update your contact preferences in your account settings.

When you contact a seller using Tap Door Messages, a feature that allows buyers and sellers to communicate through the Services, we may share aggregated information about your use of the Services with sellers. This information could include whether you are a frequent purchaser or a new buyer. The purpose of sharing this information is to help sellers provide better service, and for us to improve our Site and Apps.

Tap Door may send you messages that are related to the service and are necessary for your account and transactions on the platform. These messages may include non-marketing emails, Tap Door Messages, or other types of notifications that are related to your account, security, product changes, or transactions.

For instance, you may receive an email to confirm your email address when you register for an account, or a notification about an order that you placed on the platform. You may also receive messages related to service availability, changes to key features or functions, messages with buyers, and correspondence with Tap Door’s Support Team through chat interface or other communication methods described above.

By registering for an account or using Guest Checkout, you agree to receive these service-related messages from Tap Door, as they are necessary for your use of the platform.

When you create an account, sign up for a newsletter, or provide us with your email address or phone number during a Guest Checkout purchase, you will receive a notice and agree (in some jurisdictions and situations, by an additional unambiguous consent) to receive marketing emails and messages from Tap Door.

You have the ability to unsubscribe at any time from these marketing emails or messages by using the opt-out link included in the email or message. Additionally, members can control which marketing emails or messages they receive from Tap Door through their account settings. It's important to note that some changes to your account settings may take a few days to take effect.

At Tap Door, we offer a contact-importer feature that allows you to locate and connect with your friends and contacts who are already members of our platform. You can find more information on this feature in the “Discoverability” section above.

If someone in your contact list is not already a Tap Door member, you have the option to invite them to join our platform. When you invite someone, an email will be sent to them on your behalf with an invitation to create an account. We want to ensure that our members have control over their own experiences, so recipients of email invitations have the option to opt out of receiving future invitations by following the instructions included in the email.

Please keep in mind that you should only send an invitation to someone who has given you consent to receive one. We take our members' privacy very seriously and want to ensure that everyone on our platform has a positive experience.

Tap Door Community

Tap Door is not only a marketplace but also a community that offers a variety of features for its members to connect and communicate in public or semi-public spaces. One of these features is forums, which are a part of the Tap Door community space. It's not mandatory to use these features, but if you choose to do so, please use common sense and good judgement when posting in these community spaces or sharing your personal information with others through the Services.

You should be aware that any personal information that you choose to submit there can be read, collected, or used by others, which could be used to send unsolicited messages to you. Tap Door engages certain third parties to assist in providing community services to you, and in the context of that relationship, we need to share some of your information with such third parties to provide that service. This may include information from your Tap Door account that is publicly available, your account status, your forum posts and reviews, your Tap Door users and/or shop name, the display name you’ve optionally chosen to share publicly in your Tap Door account, avatar image, the date you registered on Tap Door, as well as your language and regional settings on the Site.

If you close your Tap Door account, your Community account, which allows you to post in Forums, will also be closed, and related personal information will be deleted. However, your posts may remain public after your account is closed, although your name will no longer be displayed alongside the post. You are responsible for the personal information that you choose to post in community spaces through the Services. You can set your privacy preferences and download your data in your Community Settings, and close or delete your Community account by submitting a request to Tap Door.

Another member may follow your public activity on the Site to receive updates, such as when you add an item to your public Favourites or Collections. However, you may choose to make certain activities private through your account settings. You also have the option to block any member with whom you do not wish to share your updates.

Legal Basis

When you use Tap Door’s Services, we collect, use, share, and process your personal information for the purposes outlined in this policy. To do so, we rely on a number of legal bases.

One of these legal bases is when it is necessary to perform the contractual obligations outlined in our Terms of Use and provide you with our Services. This means that we need to collect and use your personal information to fulfil our obligations to you as a user of our platform.

Another legal basis we rely on is your consent to the processing of your personal information, which you can revoke at any time. If you provide your consent, we may use your personal information for a variety of purposes, such as to send you marketing communications or to personalise your experience on our platform.

We may also process your personal information when it is necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, such as a court order, or to exercise or defend against legal claims.

In certain situations, we may rely on the legitimate interests of Tap Door, our visitors, members, or partners as a legal basis for processing your personal information. For example, we may process your personal information to improve our Services, prevent fraud, or to analyse user behaviour to better understand our user base.

Additionally, if you have expressly made certain information public on our platform, we may rely on this as a legal basis for processing it.

We may also process your personal information when it is necessary in the public interest, such as to prevent crime.

Finally, in rare cases, we may need to process your personal information to protect your vital interests or those of others, such as in situations where we need to share information to prevent loss of life or personal injury.

We take your privacy seriously and strive to only process your personal information in accordance with the legal bases outlined in this policy.

At Tap Door, we strive to provide you with a personalised and relevant experience when using our Services. To achieve this, we collect and process your personal information, and rely on a number of legal bases to use your information in these ways. These legal bases include where it is necessary to perform the contractual obligations in our Terms of Use and to provide Services to you, where it is necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, where it is necessary for the purposes of our or a third party's legitimate interests, and where you have given us your consent.

We rely on your consent for several specific purposes, including sending marketing messages, third-party data sharing related to advertising, and, to the extent applicable, the use of location data for advertising purposes. This consent can be withdrawn at any time. We also rely on your consent for targeted online and offline marketing, which may include the use of tools like Facebook Custom Audience and Google Customer Match.

We or our sellers may advertise our Services or our Sellers’ products through a variety of different mediums, and we rely on your consent to do so off-site. As part of this, we may work with advertising partners such as Facebook, Google, and other partners disclosed in our Cookies and Similar Technology Policy. These partners have their own privacy policies and consent mechanisms for their customers, in addition to Tap Door’s controls. You may see the privacy policies and privacy choices for these partners, as well as the information you share with them, in our Cookies and Similar Technology Disclosures.

To provide you with more relevant and useful advertising, we may use first-party data, such as your prior shopping and browsing patterns on our Site, and combine it with other data collected from you or received from our advertising and marketing partners, such as your location or publicly available information. This allows us to create targeted audiences based on your known or inferred demographic and/or interests, which we can use to personalise and tailor our Service to you. This includes personalising our Site and Apps, direct marketing channels like email, and off-site marketing partners like Google and Facebook, subject to their terms and privacy notices that you agreed to with such partners.

Legitimate Interest

When you use our Services, we collect, use, and process your personal information for a variety of purposes, as described in this policy. To do so, we rely on a number of legal bases, including our legitimate interests.

For the Provision and Improvement of Services

One way we use your information is to improve and customise our Services. This involves sharing your information with third parties for these purposes. We do this because it is necessary to pursue our legitimate interests in providing better Services to our users. Additionally, we have a legitimate interest in understanding how our Services are being used, as well as in exploring ways to develop and grow our business. We also use your information to improve the efficiency and interest of our Services for users, and to obtain insights into usage patterns.

As part of our core Services, we have a legitimate interest in customising your on-site experience to help you find relevant products and recommended purchases. This includes using your information to help sellers market and sell their products on Tap Door. By doing so, we can better serve the needs of both buyers and sellers on our platform.

We take our responsibilities seriously and are committed to protecting your privacy rights. If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, please contact us using the details provided in this policy.

For Marketing Communications

When you use Tap Door, we may send you marketing messages to inform you about our services, products, and promotions. We rely on our legitimate interest to send you these marketing messages. This means that we believe it is necessary to send these messages to pursue our legitimate interests of promoting our business and services to our users.

In addition, we may also use your information for Tap Door's advertising programs, including on-site advertising and marketing. We also rely on our legitimate interest for these purposes. This means that we believe it is necessary to use your information to pursue our legitimate interests of promoting our business and services, and to provide relevant and useful advertising to our users.

Please note that in some cases, we may still seek your consent to send you marketing messages or use your information for advertising purposes, even if we rely on our legitimate interests. This is because we respect your privacy and want to provide you with control over how your information is used. If you no longer wish to receive marketing messages or have your information used for advertising purposes, you can update your preferences in your account settings or follow the instructions in the messages you receive.

For Buying and Selling

When you use Tap Door to buy or sell goods, we will facilitate the sharing of information between the two members involved in the transaction. This includes sharing the other member's delivery address, email address, and payment status. We may also share your information with our third-party partners, such as delivery and payment partners, in order to provide the Services to you. These partners will process your personal information according to their own privacy policies.

In some cases, these partners may be responsible for protecting personal information under their control, though they are subject to Tap Door's privacy policy and security requirements for vendors. By making a sale or purchase on Tap Door, you are directing us to share your information in this way. This is necessary to perform our obligations under our Terms of Use.

We may also partner with third parties to enable you to make purchases from a Tap Door seller on their website or mobile app. In these cases, the third party's terms of service, privacy policy, and other policies may apply, in addition to Tap Door's own policies. They will collect information directly from you in connection with your purchase and share it with Tap Door for the purpose of fulfilling the order.

As a member of Tap Door, we expect you to respect the privacy of the member whose information you have received. You have a limited licence to use that information only for Tap Door-related communications or for Tap Door-facilitated transactions. You do not have permission to use the information for unauthorised transactions or to send unsolicited commercial messages in violation of any applicable laws or consent requirements.

If you choose to add a member to your physical mailing list or otherwise use or store a member's personal information, you must do so in accordance with applicable laws and consent requirements in the member's jurisdiction.

For Site Customisation/Personalisation

When you browse and make purchases on the Tap Door Site or Apps, we may collect information about the types of products that interest you. We use this information to suggest potential purchases and improve your on-site experience. This is a core part of our Services, and we have a legitimate interest in customising your experience to help you find relevant items and discover recommended purchases.

In order to achieve this, we may use your browsing and purchasing behaviour on and off the Site or Apps to better understand your preferences and suggest products that may be of interest to you. By doing this, we aim to make your shopping experience more enjoyable and efficient.

Furthermore, by understanding what products interest you, we can help our sellers find the best ways to market and sell their products on Tap Door. This is important because it helps our sellers reach the right customers, which in turn benefits you as a buyer by ensuring that you are presented with products that meet your interests and needs.

Overall, we believe that using your browsing and purchasing behaviour to suggest potential purchases is in the best interest of both our buyers and sellers, and we strive to do so in a transparent and responsible way that respects your privacy and data protection rights.

For Legal and Safety Requirements

Tap Door may need to retain, preserve, or release your personal information to a third party in certain limited circumstances. These circumstances include responding to lawful requests by public authorities, including legitimate national security or law enforcement requirements; protecting, establishing, or exercising our legal rights or defending against impending or asserted legal claims, including to collect a debt, or material violations of our policies (including our Intellectual Property Policy); complying with a summons, court order, legal process, regulation, or other legal requirement; or disclosing information in good faith when we reasonably believe that such disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss, or investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, threats to our rights or property, or violations of Tap Door's Terms of Use.

In the cases set out above, our use of your information may be necessary for the purposes of our or a third party's legitimate interest in keeping our Services secure, preventing harm or crime, enforcing or defending legal rights, or preventing damage. Such use may also be necessary to comply with a legal obligation, a court order, or to exercise or defend legal claims or to facilitate the collection of taxes and prevention of tax fraud. It may also be necessary in the public interest (such as to prevent crime or fraud) or to protect vital interests (in rare cases where we may need to share information to prevent loss of life or personal injury).

For instance, in the event that the aforementioned circumstances permit, your information may be shared with tax authorities or other governmental agencies. If Tap Door receives a lawful, verified request for a member's records or information in one of the limited circumstances described above, we may disclose personal information. This information may include, but is not limited to, a member's name, address, phone number, email address, company/trading name and, where appropriate, bank account and transaction details.

For Affiliated Businesses

Tap Door has several affiliations with various businesses, which we work closely with for a variety of purposes to help us perform and improve our Services. These affiliated businesses may sell items or services to you through our Services or, with your consent, offer promotions to you, including email promotions.

Additionally, Tap Door provides services or sells products jointly with our affiliated businesses, which includes giving you the opportunity to sign up with these partners and allow them to more effectively market to you. If an affiliated business assists in facilitating your transaction, we may need to share information related to the transaction with the affiliated business to help facilitate your transaction, and this is considered part of the Services we provide in accordance with our Terms of Use.

We rely on consent (which can be withdrawn at any time) to send marketing messages and for third-party sharing related to advertising. As part of our marketing efforts, we may work with advertising partners such as Facebook or Google, and we may use analytics aggregated from usage information, including search keywords, favourites, browsing history, and purchase history.

For Aggregated Information

Tap Door may share demographic information with business partners, but we take measures to protect your privacy. Unless otherwise stated, the information shared with our partners will be aggregated and de-personalised. This means that personal information will be removed or obscured so that it cannot be used to identify individual members.

The purpose of sharing demographic information is to enable our partners to better understand their customers and target their advertising and marketing efforts more effectively. For example, we may share general information about the age range, gender, or location of our members with a business partner that sells products or services that may be of interest to that demographic.

We take privacy seriously and take steps to ensure that the information shared with our partners cannot be used to identify individual members. This includes removing or obscuring personal information and using strict contractual terms with our partners to ensure that they only use the information for the purposes specified by Tap Door.

For Service Providers

Tap Door needs to engage third-party companies and individuals to help operate, provide, and market the Services. These may include research companies, analytics providers, and security providers. We have carefully chosen these third parties and they are obligated to Tap Door not to disclose or use your information for any other purposes. These third parties have only limited access to your information and may use your information only to perform tasks on our behalf.

Engaging service providers is often necessary for us to provide the Services to you, particularly where these companies play important roles in helping us keep our Service operating and secure. For example, we may need to engage a security provider to help us protect our site from cyber attacks.

In some other cases, these service providers aren’t strictly necessary for us to provide the Services, but help us make it better. For example, we may engage a research company to help us conduct research into how we could better serve our users. In these cases, we have a legitimate interest in working with service providers to make our Services better. For Business Reorganisation

When it comes to developing our business over the long term, Tap Door may need to engage in the buying or selling of assets. Such transactions may be necessary and in our legitimate interests. In these types of transactions, such as a sale, merger, liquidation, receivership, or transfer of all or substantially all of Tap Door’s assets, member information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred.

If Tap Door intends to transfer information about you, we will notify you via email or by putting a prominent notice on the Site and the App. You will be afforded an opportunity to opt-out before information about you becomes subject to a different privacy policy. This is our way of ensuring that you remain in control of your information, and that your privacy is always respected.

It's important to note that when you use third-party sites or services, their own terms and privacy policies will govern your use of those sites or services. While Tap Door chooses and manages these third-party technologies placed on its sites and apps, they are still subject to the privacy policy of the third party.

Tap Door's privacy policy applies only to the practices of the company and its employees, and not to the practices of third parties that Tap Door does not own or control, such as third-party providers and API users. These third parties may include other members who sell using the Services. Different practices may apply to the use or disclosure of the information that you provide to them.

Tap Door is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of these sellers, API users, or other websites on the internet, even those linked to or from the Services.

This means that they are responsible for providing and complying with their own policies relating to any personal information they obtain in connection with the Services. Therefore, if you provide your information to such third parties in connection with your use of the Services, different practices may apply to the use or disclosure of the information that you provide to them.

To ensure your privacy and security, we encourage you to read the privacy policies and ask questions of third parties before you disclose your personal information to them.

Rest assured that we take the security and privacy of your personal information seriously and will always aim to keep it safe while it is in our possession.
